Today Max's Pre-K had a field trip to Hands On Discovery. I took a long lunch (thanks to my boss, Al) and joined all 28 kids and about 10 parents.

I surprised Max by being there when the kids showed up. He was so exicited when he saw me, he was all "Mommy, I love you" and "Mommy, I've missed you today". I felt horrible when I had to come back to work. He wanted me to go home with him so bad. Sometimes it sucks to work full time. IT SUCKS REALLY, REALLY BAD.

I don't know why he insisted on puffing his cheeks during this picture, maybe he thought it would add to the Super Hero Effect. Silly, silly, boy.

My girls are quite proud that they can throw a party like this. I'm throwing this picture in just for shits & giggles. Notice the guy on the right who's got a big smile on his face. I have NO CLUE who he is.....

OK, this is right when we got started with the Crown Royal and Water Moccasin Shots. Apparently, I thought that I was invencible that evening. I'm now a Grown-Up, you know.

That didn't keep me from puking the next morning, all morning. Thank GOD I will only turn 30 once.

He can bake too!

Terry made my birthday cake, chocolate swirl with chocolate icing. VERY YUMMY!

I just had to add this picture because it's the only one I have with all the family members. Usually, I'm behind the camera.

FORK YOU!

Best of all, they totally Forked me. I don't know if Forking is something limited to our rural area, but it sure cracked me up. Thanks to Sara & Kara for making me laugh!

In the Closing Stages of my 20's....

Mazie
Originally uploaded by kchanley.
It is coming to an end. My days as a twenty-something are almost finished. Tomorrow is the day I turn THIRTY. THE BIG 3-0.

I'm excited about turning thirty. I'm proud of where I am in life, for the most part. We bought a house this year; I have 2 great kids, an almost perfect Marriage, a wonderful family.

Tonight I get my birthday dinner from Mom. My favorite, Vegetable Soup and as my mother says "Toasted Cheese". I don't know why, everyone else calls them grilled cheese. They aren't grilled, they are kind of toasted, in a big electric skillet. Kevin will bitch, because he only likes hamburgers and French fries, but at least I'm not asking for Cherry Tomato Soup. I hope she makes dessert too.

For the birthday celebration, we are going to Karaoke at The Silver Bell. Hopefully, my whole damn family will be there. We don't sing, but Karaoke night at The Bell is an almost guaranteed good time. Sean gets extra points for adding a Ms. Pac Man machine when they renovated the place. So if all else fails, we can entertain ourselves by trying to outwit Pinky, Inky, Blinky, & Clyde.

I set up our scarecrow last night. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go home tonight to find her stuffing shredded all over the yard, thanks to our can't stop chewing on everything dogs. This morning, I named the scarecrow Mazie.

Yet she never sleeps in her own bed...

Terry and I found this in the kitchen the other night. This kid never sleeps in her bed with a nice, comfy, brand new mattress. Maybe we should've gotten her a fancier, padded high chair instead.

This one is from our train ride too. Really, she doesn't wear an engineer cap every day. She's 2 years and 1 1/2 months old in this picture.

This picture was taken at Misty Dawn's wedding reception in April of this year. There was an open bar for the wedding party & their spouses, and as you can see, Terry took full advantage of it. I'm not totally sober, but I'm sober enough to hold up my husband AND keep his hand off my butt.

This is my niece, Cora. Her mother tortures her daily by dressing her up and making her pose for pictures.

I think she's telling mom what she can do with her camera. She's so stinking cute. Our little Sara Junior Fuzzhead.

School Days

Today I played hookey for a while so I could take Max to Pre-K. It was "School Picture Day" and he was so happy that I was taking him to school before going to work.

I hadn't talked to any of his teachers since the beginning of school about a month ago, so I was curious as to what they had to say about my Max.

Miss Tammy told me that "he's doing just fine, we aren't having any problems". Miss Kelley told me that he "sets a good example for other kids". That's my sweet boy! He's really grown up over the summer.

Last year he wanted to play the whole time he was there. They grow up so fast....

The Tone of an E-mail

Is it necessary to be so damn bitchy in your e-mails? For the love of God, please read them before sending them out. A word or two can make all the difference....

I'd say more, but I have a fear of being dooced. To quote Heather B Armstrong "BE YE NOT SO STUPID".

One Fine Day....

Yesterday was a good day. The weather was perfect. I made my first pot of Vegetable Soup this season, and I also started to get my flower beds ready for fall. The kids were super sweet, and we ALL got to take a nap in the afternoon.

Terry and I decided that we are going to "keep track" of our chores. He doesn't seem to understand how simple it is to JUST PUT THINGS BACK IN THEIR PLACE. IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE. I picked up an entire load of laundry off of his bathroom floor. It's kind of reverse psychology. He's trying to 'beat' me by doing more chores. We aren't counting normal chores, such as I cleaned the bathrooms yesterday but I clean them every week so that doesn't count. I want him to see the simple things that he's not doing. Like puting the Hershey's syrup back in the fridge instead of letting it sit out to rot. I'm trying to get him back in the habit of picking up after himself. Yes, he's extremely spoiled.

I won yesterday. I took out two bags of trash (his job) and picked up all his clothes. He brought in all his cups from the garage (about 8).

Me by Max

Me by Max

Cheesey picture, I know. You can only smile so long before you get the "come-on and take the damn picture NOW" smile.

All Aboard!

Max loves trains. He loves trains so much that he can spot train tracks from a mile away. His obsession with trains began when he was about 2, and is still going strong. I am kick myself every day for not starting him out with the Thomas the Tank Engine Wooden Railway Set, because I thought it was a phase. Instead, we bought him the cheaper die cast versions. He loves them the same, but I can't find a track to go with the set.

Last weekend we took him to the Indiana Railway Museum to ride a REAL TRAIN. We would've taken him sooner, but this was bribery to get Max over his poop issues. He had serious poop issues, but they are now gone. I won't go into detail, as I don't want to embarrass my little buddy.

It was a wonderful trip, we all had a great time. As usual, Terry fell asleep in the middle of everything.

In the beginning..

I really can't believe that I'm doing this, but this is my attempt at a blog. For now, this is a private thing. For me, myself, and I only. I don't know if I'll ever share this with anyone. I feel as if I am talking to myself, since I'm keeping this private for now.

I am a WOHM, or work out of home mom, of 2 wonderful children (Max and Tessa) and 1 neglected husband (Terry). Terry is like one of my kids, I call him "the big ugly one". His not very big, or ugly at all. If I had a picture of him when he wasn't sleeping, I'd insert it here. Terry sleeps alot. My kids do not, unless I sleep with them.
